True Terror

Submitted by Roanman on Fri, 02/24/2012 - 16:09

Here's University of Michigan freshman punter Will Hagerup dropping the snap during the fourth quarter of the 2011 Michigan, Ohio State game in front of some 112,000 plus or minus in the stands and many, many millions on national TV.

We've been going around and around for months now about posting this thing until last night one of the original minions pointed out that while this play was going on, easy half of the state of Michigan had the exact same look on their faces as does young Mr. Hagerup here.

I know for a fact that was true at my house.

Besides ..... we won.

I'm thinking about making this my screen saver.

Slowly I Turned

Here are two performances of the famed Joey Faye or Harry Steppe (take your pick) Vaudville bit "Slowly I Turned".

The first by The Three Stooges was filmed in 1943 for their movie short Good Luck Mr. Yates and was subsequently cut from the film.

Columbia liked the bit well enough to save the footage and wrote Gents Without Cents around it.

Here are Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Howard.

Niagra Falls.

Next from their 1944 film, Lost in a Harem, here are Abbott and Costello along with Murray Leonard performing their version of the same bit.

Of the versions available, I took the entire scene including Lou Costello's 30 second exit as it includes one of my all time favorite Lou Costello moments.

Nothing has more strength than dire necessity.

Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.

Much effort, much prosperity.

Whoso neglects learning in his youth, loses the past and is dead for the future.

New faces have more authority than accustomed ones.

Forgive, son; men are men; they needs must err.

Do not plan for ventures before finishing what's at hand.

Ignorance of one's misfortunes is clear gain.

The good and the wise lead quiet lives.

From Newsmax.com

Romney Leads Obama in Billionaire Donors

An examination of donors and the Forbes magazine list of 412 American billionaires shows that Romney has the support of 42, followed by Obama with 30, Texas Gov. Rick Perry with 20, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman with 12, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with four.

Ron Paul? ..... Zero, zip, nada.

I intend to live forever, or die trying.

I have nothing but confidence in you, and very little of that.

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it, misdiagnosing it, and then misapplying the wrong remedies.

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.

I've had a perfectly wonderful evening.  But this wasn't it.

There is one way to find out if a man is honest; ask him!  If he says yes you know he's crooked.

Money will not make you happy, and happy will not make you money.

Time wounds all heels.

Outside of a dog a book is man’s best friend.  Inside a dog it’s too dark to read.

Those are my principles.  If you don’t like them, I have others.

I don’t care to belong to a club that would have someone like me for a member.

The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.  If you can fake that, you've got it made.

My mother loved children - she would have given anything if I had been one.

Here’s to our wives and girlfriends, may they never meet.

Women should be obscene and not heard.

Don’t ever underestimate the importance of money. I know it’s often been said that money won’t make you happy and this is undeniably true, but everything else being equal, it’s a lovely thing to have around the house.

I must say I find television very educational. The minute somebody turns it on, I go to the library and read a good book.

When I was young I was amazed at Plutarch's statement that the elder Cato began at the age of eighty to learn Greek. I am amazed no longer. Old age is ready to undertake tasks that youth shirked because they would take too long.

Years ago, I tried to top everybody, but I don't anymore, I realized it was killing conversation. When you're always trying for a topper you aren't really listening. It ruins communication.

I chased a woman for almost two years only to discover her tastes were exactly like mine - we were both crazy about girls.

I've been looking for a girl like you - not you, but a girl like you.

Why was I with her? She reminds me of you. In fact, she reminds me more of you than you do!

Man does not control his own fate. The women in his life do that for him.

Only one man in a thousand is a leader of men, the other 999 follow women.

A man's only as old as the woman he feels.

If I held you any closer I would be on the other side of you.

Why a four-year-old child could understand this report. Run out and find me a four-year-old child. I can't make head nor tail of it.

I cannot say that I do not disagree with you.

If you've heard this story before, don't stop me, because I'd like to hear it again.

To quote the always reliable Groucho Marx

Last night was pretty much fun around here.

While our facebook friends stifled a collective yawn over yesterday's post, The Minions perked up quite nicely.

Finger pointing, ruffled feathers, and vitriolic outrage were the order of the evening until Deana offered up the indisputable wisdom of Groucho Marx and pretty much ended the festival.
